NTA's digital surgical strike before NEET 2025! Crackdown on 122 fake social media channels

Now the noose has started tightening on those who are playing with the future of lakhs of students across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken a big step against those spreading fake rumors of paper leaks before NEET (UG) 2025. NTA has not only shown vigilance regarding the suspicious claims related to a paper leak going viral on social media, but has also started working towards legal action against it.

Reporting of more than 1500 suspicious claims

This time NTA has launched a special online portal, where more than 1,500 fake paper leak claims have been reported so far. The shocking thing is that most of these claims have come through Telegram channels, which are engaged in confusing the students preparing for the medical examination.

Action against 122 social media accounts

According to reports, so far NTA has identified 106 Telegram and 16 Instagram channels which were making false claims. In these cases, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (under the Home Ministry) has been sent for investigation and legal action. Also, Telegram and Instagram have been asked to remove these channels and share the information of their admins.

Most rumors on Telegram

NEET (UG) 2025 exam is going to be held on May 4. Last year there was a lot of controversy during the examination regarding paper leak and disturbances at the centers. This time the Ministry of Education has taken measures to make the examination process more transparent and secure by forming a high level committee. Despite this, false paper leak claims are being made on Telegram.

Candidates advised to stay alert

NTA has appealed to the candidates to stay away from such fraudsters who are luring students for money. A special reporting portal is also available at https://nta.ac.in for reporting such groups and accounts running on social media, which will remain open till 5 pm on May 4, 2025.

• Websites or social media accounts that claim paper leak.
• People who claim to have access to exam material.
• Those who claim to be NTA or government officials and commit fraud.
