Many people have moved from Gmail to Zoho Mail, and many are considering doing so. If you've already moved to Zoho Mail or are considering doing so, keep in mind that you should choose a strong password to prevent hackers from easily hacking your email account. Zoho itself explains on its website how to choose a strong password, which can help keep your account secure. Let's learn how to choose the right password and what it should contain to be considered strong.
Choose a password with a certain number of characters.
A strong password must have at least 12 characters. Long passwords are difficult to crack. Hackers use a method called brute-force. In this, they try different combinations of letters, numbers, and special signs. If the password is long, it takes a long time to crack. Most apps have a feature that temporarily locks the account after a few incorrect attempts. For example, you could choose a password like $ummer2022 or Ar+@#2023.
Use Special Signs
Use numbers, special signs (like @, #, $), capital letters, and small letters in your password. This makes it stronger. If you use only letters or numbers, it can be easier to crack. So, create a password that combines these. Choose a password like M3x!c0$p!55@ or al!F0rn!@>.
Also, keep these things in mind:
- Don't use birthdays, phone numbers, family members' names, etc., as passwords, as others may know them.
- Instead of using letters (a, e, i, o, u) directly, replace them with special symbols or numbers. For example, a can be used as @, e as 3, i as !, o as 0, u as.
- Create a pattern for other letters as well. For example: s is $, h is #, x is %.
- You can add a smiley like :) Or :P To the end of the password to make it easier to remember.
- For example, you can choose a different password like D0n+qu!t23:) or F0ll0wRuL35:P.
Don't use the same password everywhere.
People often use the same password in multiple apps. This is a big risk. If one app is hacked and your password is leaked, hackers will try the same password elsewhere. If you keep a different password for each app, the damage will be limited to just one app. To avoid this, you can change the password of the hacked app or add multi-factor authentication (MFA). This keeps other apps and data safe.
