MG Motor India first showcased the MG M9 luxury electric MPV at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. And now the company is all set to launch its new offering in the Indian market soon. The company has been teasing the EV MPV on carmaker’s social media accounts, suggesting a launch in India is just around the corner. Ahead of the launch, it has been confirmed that the electric MPV will arrive in India via the CKD (completely knocked down) route.
This means the vehicle will be imported in parts and assembled locally at MG’s manufacturing facility in India. Opting for the CKD route brings several strategic advantages. It significantly reduces import duties compared to fully built units (CBUs), making the M9 EV more competitively priced for Indian buyers. It’s expected to be priced between Rs 65 to 75 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The M9 will be the second product that will be sold via MG’s new ‘Select’ premium retail network, after the Cyberster. The bookings for the EV MPV are already underway, Interested customers can book it by paying a refundable token amount of Rs 51,000. Bookings can be made through 13 MG Select dealerships located in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru, or via the company’s official website.
The electric M9 features a front-wheel-drive layout powered by a front-mounted motor and a 90kWh lithium battery. The motor delivers 245hp and 350Nm of torque, with a claimed WLTP range of 430km. In India, the MG M9 will be offered in three colour options - Mystic Grey, Luminous White and Cardiff Black. Globally, it can be had in blue and red. Visually, the MG M9 Electric showcases a boxy yet premium stance, with an impressive length of 5,207mm. At the front, it sports sleek LED DRLs and a muscular bumper, giving it a bold and modern look. The side profile is further enhanced by stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, adding to its strong road presence.
The M9 will be offered in both 7- and 8-seater configurations and gets features such as two sunroofs—a single-pane design for the front and a dual-pane unit for the rear—along with powered front and rear seats offering heating, ventilation, massage functions, and fold-out ottoman support. Additional highlights include powered rear-sliding doors and rear entertainment screens. Safety wise, it gets multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, and an electronic parking brake. Additionally, it will also feature Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, which includes features like adaptive cruise control and forward collision avoidance assist and more.
