Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) received a huge blow as spinner is ruled out of IPL 2025 due to a shoulder injury. He played two games for the franchise in the current season and was a crucial asset for the team with the ball. He gave the much-needed breakthroughs in both games (1-46 and 1-48), but now the setback has led to his ouster from the tournament.

While the franchise was hopeful about his recovery, it didn't happen, and now he will have to miss out from the entirety of the tournament. He suffered from a shoulder injury during the ODI World Cup 2023 and recovered from it. However, the issue re-occurred during the IPL, and the player had to fly back home. He is also expected to miss the upcoming T20I series for Australia against the West Indies.

Now, SRH have replaced Zampa with Karnataka batter R Smaran. SRH are in the process of making their way back into the tournament as they secured a stunning victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by chasing down a mammoth total of 246 runs. They won the game by eight wickets, thanks to Abhishek Sharma's unbelievable knock of 55-ball 141 runs. The South Paw hit 14 boundaries and ten sixes in his innings.

After many failed performances, SRH top order finally performed as expected by many, putting up an opening stand of 171 runs. Travis Head was the only batter to be dismissed in Hyderabad's chase, but he had already scored 66 runs off 37 balls. SRH's bowling was poor, as they conceded a huge total in the first place. However, Harshal Patel claimed a 4-wicket haul in four overs and conceded 42 runs.

This win was important for the Hyderabad-based franchise to be on track and keep their qualification hopes alive. Despite being the runners-up in the previous season, their team combination did not look confident in the initial games despite winning their tournament opener against Rajasthan Royals. However, the rest of the games were horrific for the franchise. After back-to-back defeats, they are finally back to winning ways.
