Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced that it has teamed up with quick commerce platform Blinkit to deliver SIM cards right to customers’ doorsteps within a swift 10 minutes.
This innovative service, a first for a telecommunications company in India, is now operational in 16 major cities, with plans to expand to additional locations in the near future.
Customers can now order not only smartphones but also SIM cards through Blinkit. Instead of visiting a store, users can simply browse the Blinkit app or website, order Airtel SIM card, whether postpaid or prepaid, and have it delivered in a fraction of the time it would take to make a traditional purchase.

How customers can order and activate a sim card on Blinkit
Customers can order sim cards on Blinkit and fill in necessary details. After receiving the card, they can follow below steps to activate the card:
- Ensure you have your Aadhaar card ready for the KYC process.
- Follow the link provided with your SIM card delivery to access the activation video.
- Activate your SIM card within 15 days of delivery.
- Complete the Aadhaar-based KYC process from home.
- If switching from another provider, trigger an MNP request during the order process.

In the initial rollout, customers in cities such as Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad can order.
