During the Indian Premier League 2025, the matter of lapse in the security of the players has come to the fore several times in the last few matches. A similar worrying incident happened after the match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday. A fan broke the security and tried to meet Virat Kohli by entering the field. A fan also reached the field in the match played against Kolkata Knight Riders on 22 March.
Rajasthan, batting first, scored 173 runs for 4 wickets based on Yashasvi Jaiswal's fifty. Chasing the target, RCB won by losing 1 wicket in 17.3 balls based on Virat Kohli's 100th T20 half-century and Phil Salt's explosive innings. Salt scored 65 runs in 33 balls while Kohli led the team to victory by scoring 62 runs in 45 balls.
After the match ended, something happened on the field which once again raised questions on the security being given to the players of the team in IPL. This incident happened when Kohli was talking to the players and coaches of Rajasthan Royals after the match. Suddenly a fan ran towards Kohli due to which the former Indian captain had to quickly move out of the way so that he could avoid the enthusiastic supporter. Security personnel immediately ran to the field and caught the person. This incident has started a debate on the balance between the curiosity of the fans and the security of the players.
When the person who came to watch the match reached the field, apart from Virat Kohli, former Team India coach Rahul Dravid, who is associated with the Rajasthan Royals team, was standing there. Apart from this, former batting coach of the Indian team Vikram Rathore was also present there.
