In the middle of IPL 2025, a player named Ayush Mhatre entered Chennai Super Kings. CSK has selected Ayush as a replacement for Rituraj Gaikwad. Speculations about Ayush being selected for CSK started after Gaikwad's trial after his injury. But, now that the news has been officially confirmed.

When will Ayush Mhatre join CSK?
CSK, which is at the bottom of the points table of IPL 2025, gave the green signal to include Ayush Mhatre in the team on 13 April. After this decision, he asked Mhatre to join the squad immediately. But, according to the report of Cricbuzz, Ayush can join the team in the next two days. A close source associated with CSK has also told Cricbuzz about this.
The CSK team is currently in Lucknow to play its 7th match of IPL 2025. After this, it will play its next match against Mumbai Indians at its home on 20 April. In such a situation, it is believed that when CSK reaches Mumbai after playing the match from Lucknow, Ayush Mhatre can join the team there.
Ayush, the second youngest player of IPL 2025
17-year-old Ayush Mhatre will be the second youngest player after Vaibhav Suryavanshi to join IPL 2025. Vaibhav and Ayush are Under 19 cricket teammates, and the jugalbandi of the bat of both of them for India is worth watching. But in IPL, both of them will be in opposing teams. While Mhatre is a part of Chennai, Vaibhav is a part of Rajasthan Royals.
How much salary will Vaibhav Suryavanshi's friend get?
Now the question is what will be Ayush Mhatre's salary? In IPL, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.10 crore. However it is believed that CSK has added Ayush Mhatre to their team at his base price of Rs 30 lakh. This means that 17-year-old Ayush's IPL salary will be Rs 80 lakh less than that of 14-year-old Vaibhav.
Ayush Mhatre's report card
17-year-old Ayush Mhatre is a great opener. He has scored 504 runs in 9 first-class cricket matches with 2 centuries and 1 half-century. He has 458 runs in 7 List A matches. Ayush has two centuries in this format as well. Ayush Mhatre, who made his first-class debut in October last year, is being seen as the future of Indian cricket.
