Importance of Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi
There is a mythological belief that Sankashti Chaturthi of Vaishakh month is especially fruitful. By fasting on this day and worshiping at moonrise, Lord Ganesha is pleased. This fast provides relief from sorrow, disease, obstacles, and financial crises. It is said that this fast brings happiness, peace, good fortune, and satisfaction in the home and family.

On the day of Vikat Sankashti Chaturthi, take a bath in the morning, wear clean clothes and take a vow to fast with a calm mind.
There is a tradition of fasting throughout the day on this day.
Clean the place of worship in the house and place an idol or picture of Lord Ganesha on a red or yellow cloth.
If there is no idol, then worship a whole betel nut considering it as the form of Lord Ganesha.
Now bathe Lord Ganesha with Panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar), then purify him with clean water.
After this, offer vermilion, akshat, sandalwood, fragrance, gulal, flowers, durva and sacred thread to Lord Ganesha.
Offer him his favorite sweet modak and seasonal fruits as bhog.
In the evening, offer water to the moon at the time of moonrise.
After this, perform the aarti of Lord Ganesha with a lamp and incense and finally break the fast.
