The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cloudy skies across Tamil Nadu over a next few days. The city's weather is expected to remain warm and humid, with occasional chances of heavy rainfall due to the ongoing influence of the Southwest Monsoon.
On Friday, the capital city woke up at 05:54 AM and the sun is likely to set at 6: 36 PM. Today, the minimum and maximum temperature are likely to be around 28 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius, respectively. The humidity is expected to be around 71 per cent.

The Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) has predicted heavy rainfall in districts, including Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Ranippettai, Tirupathur, Cudalore, Perambalur, Kallakurichi, and Ramanathapuram. Meanwhile, light rainfall is predicted in Ariyalur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Puducherry, Kanniyakumari, Chennai, Tirunelveli, and Tenkasi districts of Tamil Nadu. The skies are expected to be cloudy and it will remain the same throughout the day.
Heavy rainfall in the upcoming days
According to the IMD, Tamil Nadu is all set to witness heavy rainfall in the upcoming days. The weather department has issued a yellow alert for numerous districts between August 2 and August 6, 2025. Heavy rainfall is likely to persist in isolated regions of Tamil Nadu.
