Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The City Congress Committee protested here in support of Rahul Gandhi and against the Election Commission on Thursday. However, the leaders gathered at the electricity company headquarters instead of the Election Commission office.
They formed a human chain, raised slogans and launched their campaign ‘Satyagraha Janjagaran Abhiyan’.
To note, Rahul Gandhi has demanded that the Election Commission release the digital voter list so that citizens and political parties could independently audit it.
The party has alleged that in key constituencies, fake and duplicate entries were used to influence election results. The Congress claims that its analysis, based on publicly available data, has revealed serious discrepancies in the voter lists, particularly in Mahadevapura, Karnataka.
The BJP mocked the Congress, saying, “Those who don’t even know the correct protest location are questioning democracy.”
IIT-Indore Develops Algorithm For Safer, More Efficient UAV SwarmsMadhya Pradesh Rajiv Vikas Kendra’s state president Devendra Yadav said the campaign aimed to enlist people in support of Rahul Gandhi. It would be run at district and block levels across the state and include foot marches, signature drives, protests and street meetings.
People would be told how, according to them, the BJP formed governments in the state and country by stealing votes. He also claimed that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh was formed through vote theft and the Election Commission was refusing to share the voter list instead of investigating.
Indore BJP’s media in-charge Nitin Dwivedi said Congress leaders did not even know where to protest but were questioning democratic institutions. He accused the Congress of insulting the Supreme Court, Election Commission and the Army, all strong pillars of democracy and said if they had complaints, they should follow the legal process instead of creating chaos on the streets.
