Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi has faced serious allegations after a netizen named Ramya Mohan claimed that he exploited a woman, now a known face in the media, by dragging her into a world she never signed up for. According to Ramya, the woman was used by him for years and is currently in a rehabilitation centre. She also criticised how men like Sethupathi are often worshipped for portraying saintly roles. However, the tweet has since been deleted.

Ramya's tweet read, "@VijaySethuOffl has offered Rs. 2L for “caravan favors”, Rs. 50k for “drives” and acts like saint on social media. She was used by him for years. This isn’t one story. It’s many and the media worships these men like they are saints. The drug-sex nexus is real. Not a joke."
She highlighted how Kollywood’s drug and casting couch culture is no joke, alleging that the woman exploited by the actor is now in a rehabilitation centre after enduring manipulation, drug use, and transactional exploitation, all disguised as industry norms.

Ramya stated that she tweeted about Vijay Sethupathi out of frustration and as a way to vent, and did not anticipate it would gain so much attention. She added, "Getting too many enquiries about it now. Out of concern for her privacy and wellbeing I’ve decided to take it down. Hope that’s respected."
Vijay Sethupathi is yet to react to the shocking claims.
