The birth anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism , was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in Airoli. The event, organized by the Airoli Sakal Jain Sangh, featured a grand Mahavir Janma Kalyan Mahotsav and a vibrant procession that drew participation from across the city.
The procession, themed around the message of Ahimsa Parmo Dharma (Non-violence is the highest religion), saw community members from all walks of life come together to pay homage to Lord Mahavir. Floral tributes were offered, and slogans promoting peace and harmony echoed through the streets of Airoli.
On this sacred occasion, dignitaries and well-wishers extended heartfelt greetings to the Jain community, emphasizing the relevance of Mahavir’s teachings in today’s world.
Participating were members of Parsh Bhakti Mandal, Trishala Mahila Mandal, Digambar Mahila Mandal, Terapanth Mahila Mandal, and a large number of Jain community members who turned out in strength to mark the occasion.
"The event highlighted not only cultural pride but also reinforced the timeless values of Jainism—non-violence, truth, and compassion—making the celebration both spiritual and socially impactful," said a participant.
