A heartwarming moment unfolded at the Panvel Mega Job Fair when a hearing-impaired youth received a job offer, bringing tears of joy to his mother. The emotional incident occurred during the grand employment drive organized by the Panvel Municipal Corporation on Saturday, April 13, at Loknete D. B. Patil School.
The job fair witnessed an overwhelming response, with 3,551 candidates registering online. Of these, 872 secured placements with various companies, while 205 were shortlisted for further rounds. Impressively, 213 candidates received appointment letters on the spot. The highest annual package offered at the fair was ₹2.83 lakh.
Among the selected candidates were two differently-abled individuals, including the hearing-impaired youth whose appointment became the highlight of the day.

Candidates from a wide range of academic qualifications, including MBA, BE, Finance, Diploma, and 10th–12th standards, participated in the fair.
This was the first time Panvel Municipal Corporation had hosted such a large-scale job fair, which turned out to be a resounding success. Speaking at the event, MLA Prashant Thakur said that Panvel is on its way to becoming a major economic hub, and such employment initiatives are key to shaping a bright future for local youth. He lauded the job fair as a significant step in that direction.
Candidates expressed their gratitude to Commissioner Chitale for the opportunity. Addressing the aspirants, the Commissioner encouraged them to face interviews with confidence and determination.
The job fair was part of a seven-point agenda under the state government's 100-day action plan. Officials credited the event's success to the dedicated efforts and cooperation of all municipal staff involved
