Mumbai: The family of Sachin Kurmi has announced an indefinite hunger strike starting from May 1, alleging inaction in the murder case. Despite the passage of several months since his killing, the main accused remains at large, prompting the family to escalate their protest in Ghodapdeo.
Demanding justice and strict action against all those involved, the Kurmi family stated that authorities have failed to arrest the key accused, forcing them to take this step. The indefinite fast is aimed at drawing attention to the lack of progress in the investigation and urging the police to act swiftly.
The family’s protest has once again highlighted the need for urgent and decisive action in the case. “We are determined to fight for justice,” said Mahesh Kurmi, brother of the deceased speaking to The Free Press Journal.
Mumbai Crime Branch’s Unit 3 has arrested five accused, including Dilip Wagaskar, deputy coordinator of the Byculla assembly constituency from the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), in connection with the murder of NCP taluka president Sachin Kurmi. Kurmi was gruesomely killed on October 4 near his residence in Ghodapdeo.
