Fortunately, the marine security police present there showed alertness and the woman's life was saved. Later, the car was pulled out of the bay with the help of a crane. This is not the first case when an accident has happened due to Google Maps.

The incident happened around 1 am on Friday night when the woman was travelling in her car towards Ulwe. Instead of going through the Bay Bridge in Belapur, she took the path under the bridge because that was the straight route on Google Maps. This incident came to the notice of the marine security police stationed nearby and they immediately reached the spot. The policemen saw that the woman was floating in the water. After this, with the help of rescue boat and patrol team, the woman was taken out safely.
