Eugene Levy has revealed he received no instructions before interviewing Prince William.

The American Pie actor, 78, appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Friday (October 3) to chat to stand-in host Christine Lampard about his "delightful" interview with the Prince of Wales for his Apple+ travel series The Reluctant Traveller With Eugene Levy.

Eugene explained: "It was an incredible day right from the get go when he pulled up on his electric scooter.

"He set the tone for the delightful conversation right off the bat. He was letting everybody know this is not what you'd expect if you're talking to the Prince of Wales."

"I remember thinking 'how surreal is this right now?' what I'm experiencing."

The Schitt's Creek actor went on to reveal that there were no questions off limits and that he found the lack of guidance "intimidating".

Eugene said: "There were no dos and don'ts. I received no instructions on what you can talk about and what you can't talk about which is kind of an intimidating thing of itself but again, he set the tone for how casual and candid the conversation it was was going to be."

During the chat, Prince William opened up about missing Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip saying "there's been quite a bit of a change".

Addressing the death of the grandmother, the father-of-three said: "yeah, I do miss my grandmother, and my grandfather.

"It's been quite a bit of change, so you do sort of, you think about them not being here any more, and particularly being in Windsor - for me Windsor is her."

Talking about how much Windsor meant to the Queen, he added: "She loved it here, she spent most of her time here.

"Showing you around is very much a case of trying to make sure I'm doing it in the way she'd want you to see it.

"She had her horses here as well - as you can imagine that was a big deal for her - so that's why she loved it here."

New episodes of The Reluctant Traveller With Eugene Levy will premiere weekly on Apple TV+ until the finale on October 31 and Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 at 9pm
