A McDonald's fan has spent £40 on the restaurant's food simply to obtain it's latest Monopoly game's peelable stickers to see if she could make a profit in food and prizes. The game, which runs from September 10 to October 21, offers customers the chance to win a wide variety of prizes, money-off vouchers and McDonalds' menu items.
With a jackpot of £100,000 up for grabs by collecting Mayfair and Park Lane stickers, Emily Jane set out in the hope of winning big - or at the very least making sure experiment proved financially worthwhile. "By the way, none of this food was wasted," she pointed out in a TikTok video prior to getting stuck in.
It began well as Emily peeled a winner at the first attempt, securing a medium Coca-Cola or milkshake on her fries.

She followed this up with vouchers for £70 off at Jet2 Holidays and £5 off a Wrapzz Phone Case, before peeling several game pieces that require other stickers to win.
However, the food wins continued to flow, as Emily won a McFlurry or Fruit Bag and 15% her next McDonald's order. "Oh my god are these new?" she pondered of the latter prize.
A second McFlurry or Fruit Bag quickly followed as well as a breakfast McMuffin.
Emily also revealed she won two lots of 30% off at JBL Audio before calculating her total winnings.
"I feel like we honestly earned back so much food... we literally made money back," she enthused. Emily then revealed her total winnings on screen, penning: "Money/food made back £41.29" - a so-called profit of £1.29.
McDonald's advises that each sticker can also be digitally scanned for the chance to win additional prizes, meanwhile. These prizes include £5 to £100 in cash, Merlin short breaks, 12-month magazine subscriptions, a £100 Virgin Experience Day and McDonald's merchandise such as t-shirts, pin badges and a neon light.
Writing in response, one TikTok user appeared to be less than impressed, commenting: "For £40 that seems like barely anything. Why is McDonald’s so expensive now?"
A second shared their success: "I won £10 yesterday have to wait 30 days."
Whilst a third person added: "I won a free card from Moonpig by scanning them on the app."
Money Saving Expert, Martin Lewis has compiled a list of previously scarce stickers that could be worth watching out for, meanwhile.
These include the following:
- Strand
- Old Kent
- Euston Road
- Liverpool St. Station
- Conventry Street
- Bond Street
- Mayfair
- Malborough Street
- Northumberland Road
And for keen players, Martin also advised they should be aware that not all food contain Monopoly stickers.
"For example, if you fancy chicken, don't order the nuggets as they don't carry a sticker, whereas Chicken Selects do," he said. If you're partial to a Big Mac, only the chicken version has a sticker, not the beef."
