Kardashian had been staying in a discreet luxury residence in Paris’ 8th arrondissement while attending Fashion Week events. In the early morning hours of October 3, five men—disguised as police officers—gained entry to the building after threatening a concierge at gunpoint. The concierge was forced to lead the men to Kardashian’s private suite, where she was alone after her bodyguard had stepped out for the night.
The assailants stormed into the apartment, held Kardashian at gunpoint, and forcibly restrained her. According to police reports, they tied her hands and feet with zip ties, taped her mouth shut, and locked her in the bathroom. During the terrifying ordeal, one of the robbers allegedly held a gun to her head while demanding access to her valuables.
The thieves made off with a jewellery box containing an estimated $6.7 million in items, along with a £3 million diamond ring that Kardashian had famously shown off on social media in the days leading up to the robbery. The ring - an engagement gift from then-husband - was never recovered.
The robbery marked one of the most high-profile celebrity crimes in recent memory and sent shockwaves through the global entertainment industry. Kardashian, who has since spoken publicly about the trauma she endured, drastically changed her approach to public life and security following the attack.
Now, nearly eight years later, she will return to Paris to testify in front of the alleged perpetrators.
Her lawyer said Kardashian holds "tremendous appreciation and admiration for the French judicial system" and is committed to supporting the legal process. "She wishes for the trial to proceed in an orderly fashion in accordance with French law and with respect for all parties to the case,” Rhodes added.

French investigators believe the robbery was orchestrated by a group of ageing career criminals, dubbed by media as the “grandpa gang” due to the suspects’ ages, many of whom were in their 60s and 70s at the time of their arrest. DNA evidence and surveillance footage led to their identification and eventual detainment, with several suspects allegedly confessing during interrogations.
One of the accused, Yunis Abbas, even published a book about the heist after being released from pre-trial detention. Despite claiming to regret the crime, he offered graphic details about the robbery and how Kardashian was specifically targeted for her visible wealth on social media.
If convicted, the defendants could face lengthy prison sentences.
Kardashian’s anticipated appearance in court will mark her first public confrontation with the men accused of carrying out the attack—an emotionally charged moment in what is expected to be one of France’s most closely watched celebrity trials in years.
