As Manchester United enter the final few days of the transfer window, Ruben Amorim is still waiting for a first victory of the new season. An opening weekend defeat against Arsenal was followed by a draw at Fulham on Sunday, with captain Bruno Fernandes missing from the penalty spot.
New signing Benjamin Sesko is still waiting for his first start, having come off the bench in both league matches. However, fellow summer arrivals Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo both started against Arsenal and Fulham.
Next up for United is a League Cup trip to Grimsby, followed by a home league game against Burnley. Amorim will be targeting victories in both games to kick-start the season, while the three attackers to move to Old Trafford this summer will all be aiming to get among the goals.
One area where investment may be needed is in goal. Altay Bayindir hasn't wholly convinced during the first two games of the season, and progress appears to be being made over Sanne Lammens.
Elsewhere, United may well be drawing closer to some of the exits then need to complete if they are to raise the necessary funds for new arrivals. Here, Mirror Football has taken a look at the latest from around Old Trafford.

McTominay's Hojlund roleScott McTominay has attempted to convince Rasmus Hojlund to join Napoli, according to reports in Italy. The latest indication from Corriere dello Sport is that McTominay's talks have been successful and Hojlund is now close to making the switch.
The Danish international striker enjoyed a steady first start at Old Trafford but struggled in front of goal last season. He has yet to feature this term, in part due to Sesko's arrival, with Napoli and AC Milan both keen.

Napoli have money to spend after selling Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray in July. If he heads to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, Hojlund would find himself linking up with former Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne following the Belgian's early summer switch.
Roma boss gives Sancho verdictJadon Sancho has not said no to Roma, according to the Italian club's manager Gian Piero Gasperini. Reports earlier in the window suggested Sancho had no plans to join the Giallorossi, but this appears far from certain.
“Sancho never said no to Roma,” Gasperini told Italian broadcaster RAI (via Football Italia). However, the Italian side still have work to do if the winger is to join.
Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for Sancho, though reports from Germany over the weekend suggested that move doesn't look likely. Bayern started their Bundesliga campaign with a 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig, with wide men Michael Olise and Luis Diaz among the scorers.
Mainoo 'willing to leave'Kobbie Mainoo is open to the idea of leaving Manchester United this summer, according to talkSPORT. The midfielder broke into United's first team under Erik ten Hag but has found action harder to come by with Ruben Amorim at the helm.
The 20-year-old was an unused substitute for United's first two games of the season, with Casemiro partnering Bruno Fernandes in the middle. He also started on the bench in the final two league games of the 2024-25 season and was restricted to late cameos in the semis and final of the Europa League.
Chelsea were previously linked with Mainoo, a product of United's academy. His current contract runs until 2027, but it has been suggested United would need a sizeable offer if they are going to cash in.
