Meghan Markle faces backlash over 'gross' teaser for Netflix show

Send Push

Meghan Markle has teased the upcoming second series of her Netflix show with a sneak peak, but some were left unimpressed. The Duchess of Sussex is returning with another series of With Love, Meghan next week.

Teasing the new series, Meghan took to Instagram to share an image of crisps frying in a frying pan. Alongside the photo, she wrote: "New season of With Love, Meghan August 26 on @netflix.

She added: "Dare I say, 'It's all that... and a bag of chips.'" The quote is a reference to Will Smith's catchphrase on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

However, not everyone was a fan of the recipe - with some taking to X to slam the crisps' off-putting appearance. "Again, everything is beige and bland," one viewer said.

"No emotional or personal stories to connect her to her recipes/products. Not even, 'Archie's favourite X' or 'had this first time I met the Queen'....Everything feels random and souless!"

A second said: "Omg! This is gross. The skins look green a bit and that can make one’s stomach sick. Maybe she should do her research if she is frying this slop up. Her marketing is by far the worst I've ever seen."

Meanwhile, a third wrote: "Is she frying up potato chips? Normal people don’t make their own chips but whatever. I don’t want to watch someone doing this on a show."

"It's so pale and anemic! Some things SHOULDN'T be beige!!" a fourth exclaimed.

The trailer for With Love, Meghan arrived last week, showing off some of the recipes that she'll be walking viewers through in series two. "I love the idea of spending time together and finding new ways to show people you care," she says in the clip.

Fans can expect to see Queer Eye's Tan France, model Chrissy Teigen and other friends of Meghan's appear in the new series.

Earlier this week, a style expert said that Meghan is sending a subtle message to the Firm about her royal status with her bold wardrobe choices in the trailer. California-based personal stylist, Cynthia Kennedy, said that Meghan's style on season two is sending a clear message that she no longer needs to dress a certain way to fit with her role as Duchess.

"Her revamped style is sending everyone a message that I don't have to dress like a duchess anymore. I get to dress like myself, and be more approachable, modern, authentic and real."
