Only Murders fans say the same thing about 'exquisite' guest star - but one thing doesn't make sense

Only Murders in the Building fans have all had the same reaction to a new guest star introduced in the latest episode released this week.

The fourth episode of season five, titled Dirty Birds, sees podcasting trio Mabel (played by Selena Gomez), Oliver (Martin Short) and Charles (Steve Martin) unexpectedly playing host to the three mega-rich prime suspects in their latest murder investigation.

Following the discovery of a secret gambling hall beneath the Arconia, they’re convinced that three powerful billionaires, Jay Pflug (Logan Lerman), Bash Steeg (Christoph Waltz) and Camila White (Renée Zellweger) are somehow connected to the murder of beloved doorman Lester (Teddy Coluca).

However, before they get the chance to gather evidence, all three suspects invite themselves over for dinner to squash the story. Not only that, but they realise the contract they’ve just signed with Wondify prevents them from digging into the wealthy trio as they’ve just become majority stakeholders in the podcasting company.

Fans will have to tune into the hit Disney+ series next week to find out Mabel, Oliver and Charles’ next step in an investigation that seems to be slipping through their fingers.

In the meantime, one of season five’s new guest stars has emerged as a clear favourite, with countless fans taking to social media to sing their praises.

One viewer was clearly obsessed, writing on X: “renée zellweger gagged me with her exquisite acting and face card. ok maem, you may step on me and manipulate me please.”

Someone else agreed: “Renée Zellweger is somehow the surprise delight for me this season on Only Murders In The Building.”

Despite the considerable praise for Zellweger’s performance as Camila, one detail about her character has left fans rather stumped.

During the impromptu visit from the three suspicious entrepreneurs, Camila somehow orchestrates a speedy and silent renovation of Oliver’s dining room which nobody noticed until she made her exit.

Another joked: “Camila doing a makeover of Oliver’s dining room very quickly and without making a sound had me floored.”

While another demanded: “How did Camila change Oliver’s dining room without anyone hearing or seeing anything.”
