Authorities have not released the identity of the person thought to be responsible but believe the individual died in a car explosion. Akil Davis, the head of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office, told an evening news conference that investigators weren’t looking for anyone else. Four others were injured but details of the severity of their injuries weren't shared.

Though the FBI did not say how it had determined the explosion was terrorism, the writings left behind, in which the suspect communicated a belief that the should not be populated, appear to shed light on the person’s state of mind and help explain investigators’ thesis that the attack was targeted and intentional.
A burned-out vehicle was seen in the parking lot behind the clinic after the blast, which caved in the building’s roof, sprayed debris across a five-lane road and shattered windows in businesses blocks away. The clinic was closed for the weekend, and the leads it told the AP its staffers were safe.
The latest statement from the FBI was shared on X and read: "Asst Director Davis confirmed the FBI is investigating the Palm Springs explosion as an act of being investigated by the . There is no known threat to public safety at this time."
During a press confrence yesterday evening Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills said: "I am really saddened by today’s attack on our city, but I am also hopeful because this city will rise and this city is resilient and will be strong.” He confirmed it was an “isolated incident” and said: “I am confident that the community is not at risk any longer."
He concluded: “Terrorism came knocking on the door of Palm Springs, we survived. I can tell you that this city will rise and it will be more effective as a beacon of hope than before.”
