2. Hot and cold compress
Hot and cold compresses are very effective in joint pain. Hot compress relaxes muscles and reduces stiffness, while cold compress controls inflammation. Apply with a hot water bottle for 15 minutes, then use an ice bag for 10 minutes. Do this twice a day. Arthritis patients should use this remedy regularly on the advice of a doctor.
3. Regular exercise and massage
Light exercise, such as yoga, swimming, or walking, makes joints flexible. Yoga postures such as Tadasana and Bhujangasana are particularly beneficial. Also, massage the joints with coconut or mustard oil. Adding garlic or ginger juice to the oil provides further benefits. Massage increases blood circulation and relieves pain.
4. Omega-3 rich diet
Foods rich in omega-3 like flax seeds, walnuts, and fish reduce joint inflammation. Vegetarians can include flaxseed oil or seeds in their diet. Apart from this, green vegetables and fruits also provide nutrition.
