After Vaibhav Suryavanshi's historic century in IPL, fans believe that he may soon be seen playing for Team India. But due to a rule of ICC, he will not be able to enter Team India at present.
Bihar's young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made his mark in the entire cricket world by performing well in IPL. He is just 14 years old, but his game is proving to be a hit even for big players. He recently became the fastest Indian batsman to score a century in IPL. He achieved this feat in 35 balls against the Gujarat team. After this strong innings, fans believe that Vaibhav Suryavanshi can soon be seen playing for Team India. Many cricket legends also believe the same. But due to a rule of ICC, it seems difficult for him to play for Team India at the moment.
This rule of ICC is against Vaibhav Suryavanshi!Actually, ICC has made many rules for playing international cricket, one of which is related to age. Due to which Vaibhav Suryavanshi may have to wait to enter Team India. Let us tell you, ICC had made a minimum age policy for international cricket in the year 2020. According to this policy, any player who wants to participate in international cricket must be at least 15 years old. On the other hand, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is currently only 14 years old. He will turn 15 on March 27 next year.
Earlier, there was no minimum age rule to play international cricket. Due to which Pakistan's Hasan Raza made his debut in Test cricket at the age of just 14 years and 227 days, which is the youngest record till date.
Will BCCI make this demand from ICC?Let us tell you, there is a provision in this ICC policy, due to which Vaibhav Suryavanshi can play for Team India even before the age of 15. Actually, in exceptional circumstances, the cricket board can apply to the ICC to allow a player under the age of 15 to play for them. In this, the ICC looks at the player's playing experience, mental development and health to see whether he is able to face the demands of international cricket or not. If the ICC gives permission, then any player can play for Team India before the age of 15.
Let us tell you, Sachin Tendulkar is the youngest player to play international cricket for India. Sachin Tendulkar played his first Test match for India at the age of 16 years and 205 days. Shortly after this, he also played his first ODI match. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see whether Vaibhav Suryavanshi is able to break this record or not.
