Raipur: Six persons have been detained by the police in Raipur, Chhattisgarh for inviting people to a ‘Nude Party’ to be held at a farmhouse.
A invitation, promoting this bizarre event, led to outrage among people, prompting the police to take action. The poster apparently invited young men and women to present themselves “undressed” at what was to be a ‘high-profile’ gathering.
According to the police, the detained include two persons associated with Hyper Club and S S Farm. They were questioned by a team of the crime branch and may be arrested. The party, planned in a private farmhouse, now stands cancelled. Two FIRs have been registered in the matter.
The event, nicknamed ‘Stranger Party’ was to be held on September 21. Those participating would have access to liquor and drugs, it has been known. An examination of the mobile phones of the two prime suspects has also revealed that some special artistes from Mumbai and Bengaluru were also lined up for the party.
Residents have said that this is an attempt to introduce an ‘indecent get-together culture’ in the city. Such events are known to take place in certain parts of Europe and the US, but are banned in India.
Sources said that the event was meant for a select gathering. The entire programme was kept so confidential that information about the venue and other details were to be shared to registered members barely a few hours before the start.
Nobody was to be allowed without registration. Mobile phones were not to be allowed into the venue. The police also suspect that the organisers are part of some drug cartel that supply to high-profile parties.
The minimum entry fee for the party was fixed at Rs 40,000 per head. It has come to be known that some couples were even ready to pay Rs 100,000 for entry.
“The Raipur Police are inquiring into the bizarre, lewd invitation shared on some social media. We are investigating why such a party was planned and the persons involved. Such parties can never be allowed,” Raipur Police SSP Lal Umed Singh said.
