While most stick to traditional methods to get the most out of their , some may be on the lookout for innovative ways to boost their outdoor space. Those with young plants in their gardens are being advised to use one type of tea this summer.
Experts from say the tea can help prevent seedlings from getting fungal diseases and ensures that they flourish. It has high levels of minerals and tannins that help young plants to thrive. Gardeners are recommended to use it three or four times a week to notice the difference in their seedlings.
While chamomile tea is known for its calming effect on humans, it's also great for helping grow seedlings. Gardening experts advise making a weak chamomile tea solution before letting it cool and applying it.
One way to apply the tea is to put it in a spray bottle and lightly mist the seedings. You can also pour chamomile tea into the tray liner when using soil blocks.
After misting, the seedlings should be allowed to dry in the sunlight. Gardeners should always use clean pots and fresh soil to help prevent fungal invasions.
If there are signs that the seedlings are damping-off then gardeners can mist them more than four times a week. They should continue to use chamomile tea until the seedlings are strong enough to be planted outdoors.

As well as containing tannins which help promote seed germination, chamomile tea also has anti-fungal properties to help fight off infections. It is also a non-toxic and natural way to promote seed germination.
