Legends Z-A has been given a and release date by Nintendo and Pokemon Company. The upcoming Nintendo exclusive has been given an October 16 release date for the original Switch and Switch 2.
The Switch 2 version of Pokemon Legends Z-A will feature improved graphics and frame-rates, making it the definitive edition of the hotly anticipated game. According to Nintendo, fans who purchase the original Nintendo Switch version will be able to buy an upgrade pack to enjoy the Switch 2 enhancements. The upgrade pack will be available to purchase from the Nintendo eShop and MyNintendo Store.
Speaking of the Nintendo eShop, Pokemon Legends Z-A will be available to pre-order from June 5, which is the same day the Switch 2 launches.
Taking place in Lumiose City, the game is said to combine RPG elements with real-time battles.
"Pokemon Legends: Z-A is a new frontier for the Pokemon video game series, blending an RPG story unfolding in a single city with action elements and a real-time battle system unlike anything seen before in the franchise," reads the official description.
"Trainers can look forward to the beginning of a new adventure in Lumiose City-one woven by people and Pokemon together!"
The game will also feature Mega Evolutions, which is when Pokemon evolve into ultra-powerful new forms.
Not only will Mega Evolved Pokemon change their appearance and unleash powerful new moves in battle, but sometimes they'll even change types.
Nintendo explains more: "When Trainers have a strong bond with their Pokemon, a Key Stone worn by the Trainer resonates with a Mega Stone held by their Pokemon, allowing Mega Evolution to take place.
"Eventually, you'll wear a Mega Ring with a Key Stone of your own embedded in it. Other Trainers you meet may wear their Key Stones in different ways."
Mega Evolution Pokemon include Mega Charizard X and Y, as well as Mega Kangaskhan, Ampharos, Gardevoir, Sableye, Altaria, Absol and Lucario.
