Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's decision to renew their marriage vows a short time after getting hitched has left many people scratching their heads. Their lavish ceremony took place on August 2, and Nicola, 30, wore a repurposed dress - the one her mum Claudia Peltz wore when she wed tycoon Nelson Peltz back in 1985.
The couple has shared various pictures from the romantic event, but Brooklyn's famous parents didn't appear to attend amid rumours of a rift within the Beckham family, which has been ongoing since his footballer father David's 50th birthday earlier this year. A relationship expert, Sunaree Ko from TarotCards, has now commented on the symbolism behind the pair's surprise vow renewal, issuing a warning to 26-year-old Brooklyn.
She told us: "A vow renewal this early in a marriage can often be a way of reinforcing commitment during times of uncertainty. It's not uncommon when external pressures-like public scrutiny or family tensions-are in play."
Nicola and Brooklyn's 2022 wedding drew global attention and reportedly sparked tension between the Beckhams and Peltz families.
Budding chef Brooklyn married Nicola on her billionaire father's estate in Palm Beach, Florida, and his little sister Harper was among the bridesmaids.
While the vow renewal may be interpreted as a fairy-tale gesture by some, Sunaree has urged people to look beyond the surface.
She added: "Real love isn't built on big weddings or public declarations-it's built on private growth, conflict resolution, and emotional maturity. Vow renewals can be meaningful, but they shouldn't be a substitute for addressing underlying issues."
The expert also said the vow renewal may also be Brooklyn's way of grounding himself in a chapter of life that feels more in his control.
"When someone is disconnected from their birth family, they often double down on loyalty and symbolism within their romantic relationship. A vow renewal can become less about romance and more about identity-almost like publicly choosing a new 'home'," Sunaree noted.
