Could things get any worse? Well, it seems they just have. This busted flush of a government is now taking advice from Tony Blair. Keir Starmer's chief of staff, the forceful yet elusive Morgan McSweeney, has commissioned a policy paper from the Blair Institute to force digital ID on us all. Heaven help us. While some might be relieved that Blair, rather than the hapless Starmer, is setting the government's agenda, I'm certainly not.
Blair is the father of pretty much all of today's disasters. His calamitous invasion of Iraq, based on the flawed narrative of weapons of mass destruction, destabilised the region causing much of the mass movement of people we see today, many fuelled with hatred for the UK over the devastation his war caused their homeland. Blair also unnecessarily opened our borders allowing millions of people from Europe into the UK, not the tens of thousands he promised.
His expansion of quangos put unelected left-wing cronies in charge of the country instead of elected politicians and it was Blair's push for 50% of young people to go to university that delivered an inflated chattering class and a depleted working class.
Most devastatingly of all, it was Blair who introduced the Human Rights Act, that's given excessive and unimaginable rights to criminals, terrorists and illegal immigrants.
Now Blair wants to resurrect his failed ID card scheme. This time under the pretence digital ID will stop illegal migration and force them to leave the UK. What a load of utter cobblers.
The truth is the government knows where the bulk of illegals are - living cost free in the hotels and houses they've put them in - if they wanted them gone, they'd get rid of the Human Rights Act and start deporting them, not faff around imposing expensive ID cards on us all.
Do not be fooled. Compulsory digital ID won't be introduced to help the public, it would be another way to control the public and for this authoritarian government to snoop on decent law-abiding citizens who dare to speak out about migration - particularly those who live next to these hotels and know only too well the lawlessness and unfairness of illegal immigration.
All you need to know is this Labour government is led by internationalists. They despise "nationalism". They don't share our patriotic view of Britain. They are ashamed of our country's history and heritage and want to destroy it.
They would rather keep Blair's disastrous Human Rights Act, tying the UK to the ECHR and preventing the deportation of dangerous illegal immigrants, than contemplate getting rid of an international agreement.
Whether it is Blair or Starmer at the steering wheel of the country won't make a difference. They will both drive the country into the ground. Starmer is merely the useful idiot who will complete Blair's project of destroying the nation state.
