There are severe delays on one of the UK's busiest motorways on Friday afternoon (August 22) after two separate crashes closed stretches of the road. The M4 in Wales has experienced two serious crashes since 1pm.
Gwent Police have warned drivers to expect delays. Taking to X, they posted: "The M4 is currently closed between J28 and J27 eastbound. "Diversions are in place which may cause congestion. Please avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey." Earlier this lunchtime, another crash closed a lane near Newport at around 1pm, sparking chaos for the many drivers on the road for the Bank Holiday weekend.
