Now, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has said that the couple seem to be on "two separate paths".
: "There's a silly old saying about the seven-year itch, but, to my eye, Harry and Meghan look as solid a couple as ever. Who knows what really goes on inside a marriage?"
She continued: "When they started out, Meghan was very much the apprentice - learning the royal ropes, with Harry as her mentor.
"Now they have two very separate paths, but that can be good for a marriage: each doing what they know and excel at and coming home with lots to talk about with a supportive partner who can help test out ideas.
"Lots of couples are stronger for having different careers or interests."
Ms Bond also said that while some things have changed for the couple, including the fact they are no longer working royals as of 2020 and now live in America, the love they had for each other on the day of their royal wedding in 2018 remains unchanged.
"However, it seems to me that one thing has remained unchanged - and that is the love they apparently felt for one another almost from the moment they met.
"And for those who, like me, knew Harry a little when he was much younger and have watched him grow up and then despaired of all he has said and written, it is at least a comfort to think that he has found his own happiness."
It is not known how the couple celebrated their anniversary on Monday.
