Peter Phillips has made the exciting announcement that he is engaged to his girlfriend of one year, Harriet Sperling. The Princess Royal's son began dating the NHS paediatric specialist nurse last year and the pair have been pictured together at several events, including Royal Ascot and Wimbledon.
A statement issued for the couple by Gerard Franklin, read: "Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement."
Peter was previously married to Autumn Kelly and shares two daughters, Savannah and Isla Phillips.
They have not yet set a date for the wedding but have informed the King and Queen, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales ahead of today's announcement.
The official statement confirmed: "Both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement. Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales have been informed of the announcement. No date has been officially set for the wedding."
Peter made his public debut with his new girlfriend last May during the Badminton Horse Trials where they arrived to cheer on Peter's sister, Zara.
They have since been pictured at key events such as Royal Ascot, where Harriet was pictured chatting with the King and Queen, as well as at Prince William's recent charity polo match.

Before meeting Harriet, Peter was married to Canadian-born Autumn Kelly, and the former couple share two daughters, Savannah and Isla.
After marrying in 2008, Peter and Autumn confirmed their separation in February 2020, with their divorce settled in June 2021. It's understood that Autumn remained living in Gloucestershire, so that she and Peter can co-parent their daughters.
A statement at the time read: "Mr Peter Phillips and Mrs Autumn Phillips are pleased to be able to report that the financial aspects of their divorce have been resolved through agreement, the terms of which have been approved and ordered by the High Court today. Whilst this is a sad day for Peter and Autumn, they continue to put the wellbeing and upbringing of their wonderful daughters Savannah and Isla first and foremost."
It continued: "Both Peter and Autumn are pleased to have resolved matters amicably with the children firmly at the forefront of those thoughts and decisions. Peter & Autumn have requested privacy and consideration for their children as the family adapts to a new chapter in their lives."
