Scrambled eggs might be one of the simplest recipes in your kitchen repertoire, but prepared with Gordon Ramsay's method takes on an entirely different dimension. While many rush through making them as a quick breakfast fix, the chef shows that with a little technique and the right timing, they become something truly luxurious.

While the MasterChef star is known for crafting complex dishes, he hasn't turned his back on teaching the fundamentals. His take on scrambled eggs has made the rounds on TikTok, with many viewers praising the texture and richness of the finished product. The trick, it turns out, isn't in making things complicated, but in getting the simple steps right.

According to Ramsay, there's no need for fancy equipment or sourcing specific ingredients, but the technique itself is absolutely key.

"The secret to any good scrambled eggs is stopping the eggs from overcooking. We never whisk our eggs before we cook them. It turns the whole thing grainy," he explained.

Instead of whisking, the eggs are cracked directly into a cold, non-stick pan - no pre-mixing required.

The chef adds butter straight away, and as the pan heats, it's time to start stirring constantly with a spatula.

"The most important part here is breaking up those eggs," the restaurateur said, stressing the importance of movement.

The pan is then taken off and put back on the heat in short bursts to help control the temperature and prevent the eggs from toughening.

A final touch of crème fraîche is what really finishes the texture, cooling the eggs slightly while they're still cooking gently in the residual heat.

The chef noted this is the step that makes them "light and fluffy" every time.

Once the eggs reach the perfect consistency, add flavour and colour with a sprinkle of salt, pepper, and freshly chopped chives.
