"Not only is this a simple solution using a product you most likely have in your compost bin, but it protects your outdoor space in a humane and natural manner."

After a cooked breakfast or baking a cake, save your eggshells, ensuring all egg residue is removed. Once washed, dry them thoroughly.
Next, crush your eggshells using a rolling pin or a food processor. The pieces need to be small and sharp.
Apply the eggshells to the base of your plants to deter slugs and snails.
If there has been a period of heavy rain, repeat the process and reapply them to the base of your vulnerable plants.
