This pretty town is one you might not have heard of but it's the perfect place to visit this summer. Its scenic landscape was even chosen by Shakespeare to feature in his famous play, Macbeth.
It's one of Scotland's smallest towns and it's known for its peaceful green setting. You can find the town of Forres on the Moray coast, around 27 miles away from Inverness.
Forres boasts a classic castle with impressive parks and gardens containing outstanding floral sculptures, says Visit Scotland.
Its website says: "Home to a number of craft shops and art galleries, Forres and the surrounding area hosts a number of cultural events, including the carnival style Culture Day and bi-annual Findhorn Bay Arts Festival in September."
One must-visit spot in the area is just four miles away, and it's popular with tourists.
The 16th century Brodie Castle has stunning grounds, and is blooming with beautiful flowers in season.
A visitor on Tripadvisor said: "We had a lovely day at Brodie Castle, and were very impressed by the Playful Garden, and the main garden. Set out beautifully with lots to grab your attention. Great for both adults and children.
"Rachael gave us an excellent tour of the Castle, informative and entertaining. We finished the afternoon with coffee in the cafe, again a very lovely space with excellent service.
"We will definitely return when back in the area to have a walk around the rest of the grounds, which we didn't see this time. Would highly recommend."
If you're hoping to visit the coast while you're there, another must-see spot is Findhorn beach.
The beach is one of the most popular beaches on the Moray coast and it's a good place for a gentle stroll or serious birdwatching session.
Forres is a historic place with a wide range of activities, from admiring the quaint town to enjoying the coast. It's a great place to visit this summer to explore a lesser-known part of the UK.
