Hot summer temperatures are to continue throughout August as temperatures climb back up to 29C. Swathes of volcanic red push across from Europe and blanket England on August 25, with the majority of the country set to see sunshine. At 6pm on this day, weather maps from forecaster WXCharts show temperatures to soar, with all areas between Cornwall and Newcastle to reach over 25C.
In the evening of August 25, London will hit 29C, as will surrounding towns in the south east. From the capital up to Norfolk, figures will hover around 28-29C, similar to Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. In middle England, temperatures will be the same, as digits drop to no less than 28C between Luton and Birmingham, reaching a maximum of 29C. Worcestershire up to Cheshire is also predicted to be a hot 29C.
On the east of England, Lincolnshire up to south Yorkshire is also set to see figures of up to 29C, with the lowest figure being 27C.
In the north east, Newcastle will see a warm 25C on the evening of 25 August, with the north west being slightly cooler.
In the south west, Devon and Cornwall are set to see figures of up to 27C on this day, as the majority of Wales is predicted to see similar temperatures. Cardiff will soar to 26C in the evening, as the England-Wales border reaches highs of 29C.
While Scotland and Northern Ireland are predicted to narrowly miss the Mediterranean heat blast, weather conditions will still be warm and dry on 25 August, with figures hovering around 19-21C.
According to the weather forecaster the Met Office, high pressure is likely to be dominant in the next week of August, which will allow a "north to northeasterly airstream to affect much of the UK, leading to rather cool conditions".
However, "high pressure is likely to progress SE across the UK for a time, bringing widely fine and dry conditions and for some, an increase in temperatures, relative to the previous few days".
Their long range forecast also predicts that a deep area of low pressure is likely to develop in the North Atlantic later this month, linked to Tropical Storm Erin.
"The final week of August may see Atlantic weather systems progress over the UK, especially in the north and west, with a small chance of widely wetter and windier weather developing. The evolution of this is highly uncertain though," it adds.
