Air fryers can speed up cooking times, and some trials even show they can cut down energy costs when cooking certain foods. But with Easter weekend approaching, we wanted to find out if using an air fryer can help make the dream crispy roast potatoes. Angela Patrone, Express.co.uk's senior lifestyle reporter, took on and put the to the test.
After peeling, chopping and parboiling the potatoes for 15 minutes, she then coated them in mayonnaise and added them to the . The air fryer has several preset options, including Air Fry, Roast, Grill, Bake, Dehydrate, and Max Crisp modes. For the potatoes, she used the 'roast' setting, and in total, the potatoes were for half an hour.
She said: "The potatoes came out beautifully crisp and better than I've ever made them in an air fryer". You can see her .
The good news is, if you want to copy Angela's recipe, the has been slashed by 40% on Amazon, reducing it from £149.99 to £89.99. On , it's still £149.99, so the deal is only on Amazon. However, like most deals on Amazon, the price could change at any time and it isn't guaranteed to stick around for long.

Given that the air fryer has two drawers, you can use it to cook separate foods, for example, meat in one drawer and potatoes and vegetables in another, which could cut down on extra pots and pans (and washing up). The timings can also be synchronised so that everything finishes cooking simultaneously. There's also a 'keep warm' function so your food doesn't get cold when you're rushing around prepping meals.
Angela noted that cleaning the air fryer was easy, too, saying: ''The grease just wiped away easily, as there are no small nooks or crannies for grease and food to get trapped in.''
She also addressed the issue of space, adding: "The only people who might want to steer clear are those with compact countertops and small kitchens." However, if you're going to use it regularly, it could be worth making space for.
If you were to buy the , which is the same size, it would cost you £269.99. The device can be split into two cooking zones or used as one large area for cooking traybakes or large pieces of meat. However, if you're looking for an air fryer for under £100, the is much more affordable.
