On the same day Sony , Microsoft has announced the next wave of titles joining Xbox Game Pass for the end of April and start of May.

New and upcoming releases include GTA 5, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Far Cry 4. That's on top of day-one releases for games such as Tempopo and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as well as the early access launch of Towerborne.

With 11 titles about to join Game Pass, plus the nine games that arrived earlier this month, Xbox Game Pass subscribers have been treated to 20 games throughout the month of April and early May.

With Extra adding just six games in April, it's fair to say that Xbox Game Pass subscribers are currently getting more bang for their buck.

It all starts today (April 15) with the release of GTA 5 on Xbox Game Pass. With GTA 6 expected to launch later this year, there's never been a better time to get accustomed to the open-world chaos that can only be found in the Grand Theft Auto series.

Needless to say, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also jump into GTA Online, which continues to be updated with new in-game events and unlockables years after release.

Next up is the excellent Neon White on April 16. Neon White is a first-person speedrunning game with an 89-rating on Metacritic. The fast-paced action game sees players jump, dash and dodge their way through stages, all the while attempting to defeat demons using a stack of ability cards.

Physics-based adventure game SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game will also be available on April 16, followed by Crime Scene Cleaner and brand new release Tempopo on April 17.

Tempopo looks like it could be a real hidden gem, featuring colourful visuals, fiendish puzzles and a catchy soundtrack.

Microsoft explains more: "When Hana's Garden of musical flowers are scattered across the sky, she asks the Tempopo for help returning them.

"Chaotic and uncoordinated by nature, the Tempopo needs Hana's conducting skills to keep on beat and solve each island's puzzle. Populate your melodic garden with rescued flowers to enjoy musical performances!"

The hits keep on coming on April 24, when Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launches as a day-one release on Game Pass.

This is another game that could be a sleeper hit of 2025. The fantasy world is inspired by Belle Époque France, while the turn-based combat is said to contain interactive elements for greater immersion. Check out the trailer above for a closer look at the action.

Towerborne will launch as an early access Game Preview title on April 29, followed by massive open-world FPS game Far Cry 4 on April 30.

Game Pass subscribers can then download and play city building strategy game Anno 1800 on May 1, alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

This particular batch of Game Pass releases comes to an end on May 6, when the surprisingly excellent fishing game Dredge makes an appearance.

Dredge begins with players setting sail to catch fish and make some money, before morphing into a sinister Lovecraftian adventure. It's both relaxing and unsettling in equal measure, and a great way to end another stellar month for Xbox Game Pass.
