Bhopal: After the school bus accident at Banganga Square in TT Nagar, traffic police continue their special drive and they conducted vehicle checks, especially of heavy vehicles, on Saturday.
40 more were found to be violating norms in the city. A staff of around 100 traffic police officers and personnel conducted vehicle checks at 19 checkpoints across the city.
Acting on govt directives, the traffic police continued the special inspection drive, targeting school, college and passenger buses across the city. The operation was carried out at 19 major locations. During the drive, officials inspected approximately 152 buses. Of these, 40 buses were found in violation of various provisions under the Motor Vehicles Act, and appropriate legal action was taken against them.
115 buses out of the 256 that were checked on Wednesday were found in violation of the Motor vehicles Act.
Then on Tuesday, action was taken against 126 buses out of the 410 checked and 4 buses were found running without valid fitness certificates, among the 40 school buses and vans that were checked. Police confirmed that the special inspection campaign will continue until May 31.
