Nagpur: Zone 1 DCP Lohit Matani, who also holds the additional charge of Nagpur police's Cyber Cell, recently visited the country's first Cyberange Lab at Softsense in Sitabuldi. During his visit, DCP Matani praised the lab's cutting-edge cybersecurity infrastructure and emphasised its potential in combating cybercrime.
A Cyberange Lab provides a virtual environment for hands-on cybersecurity training, simulating real-world scenarios to help individuals sharpen their investigative skills.
Impressed by the lab's capabilities, DCP Matani stated that such advanced setups could play a crucial role in resolving complex cybercrime cases. He also discussed the potential for future collaborations to conduct training sessions and raise awareness on cybersecurity issues.
Vishal Lichade, director of the lab, gave a live demonstration, highlighting how the facility contributes to strengthening India's cyber defense ecosystem. Launched in 2018, the lab is open to students, researchers, and professionals. Developed by the Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) and designed by Tactical Cyberange Simulations Pvt. Ltd., the lab's training model features realistic simulations incorporating IoT, OT, and IT systems to help users identify and mitigate cyber threats effectively.
Notable attendees included senior social worker Sunil Jaiswal, Tanveer Mirza, Mary Joseph, cyber expert Riddhish Lichade, and others.
