Traffic curbs in Nagpur for Ambedkar jayanti

Nagpur: The 134th birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar will be celebrated with grand social, political, and cultural processions across Nagpur on April 14. Various programmes, including musical tributes, rallies, and public meetings will be held across the city. In view of the anticipated crowds and to prevent inconvenience to the public, Nagpur city police issued a detailed traffic diversion plan.

Police officers deployed on duty will have the authority to modify or extend traffic diversions based on real-time requirements during the procession. Nagpur Police urged citizens to cooperate and use alternative routes during the Jayanti celebrations to ensure smooth flow of traffic and public safety. The traffic advisory will remain in effect until 2am on April 15, said a notification issued by additional commissioner of police (crime) Sanjay Patil.

Traffic diversions for April 13–14

- From 6pm to 12 midnight on April 13 until 2pm on April 14, vehicular movement on several roads, especially Samvidhan Square, will be restricted. Motorists are advised to avoid congested routes and opt for alternative roads:

- Vehicles heading from Morris College Chowk to Samvidhan Chowk will be diverted via DP Road and Manas Chowk.

- Traffic approaching from Shree Mohini Complex and Ramjhula area will be rerouted from Jaistambh Chowk via Manas Chowk.

- MSEB Y-Point traffic going towards Samvidhan Chowk will be redirected through LIC Chowk, Jaistambh Chowk, and Manas Chowk.

- Vehicles from Kannamwar Chowk towards Samvidhan Chowk will be diverted via Meethani Chowk or old VCA stadium road.

- Heavy vehicles entering the city are advised to use the Outer Ring Road during this period.

Diversions for April 14–15

From 10am on April 14 to 2am on April 15, the following restrictions will be in effect:

- All vehicular traffic from Mata Kacheri Chowk to Kachipura Chowk will be completely halted.

- Traffic from Alankar Chowk to Kachipura Chowk will be diverted as needed.

- Vehicles from Kripalani Chowk heading to Mata Kacheri Chowk will be rerouted via Wardha Road, Rahate Colony, and DP Road.

- In the Indora Zone, traffic from Bhim Chowk towards Barakholi will be diverted depending on crowd movement.

- Visitors to Deekshabhoomi are requested to park their vehicles at designated locations, including Science College, Aath Rasta Chowk ground, and the Blind School.

Traffic curbs in Kamptee

Traffic restrictions will be in place in Kamptee on April 13 and 14 in view of Hanuman Jayanti and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations. Heavy vehicles traveling from Nagpur to Kanhan via Kamptee will be diverted via Asha Hospital to Khaparkheda. Similarly, vehicles coming from Kanhan towards Nagpur will be rerouted through Lihigaon Puliya and Fapsi to Pardi. These restrictions will be enforced from 4 pm on April 13 until 11 pm on April 14.
