Raipur: Rajya Sabha MP and institutional body member of AIIMS Raipur, Raja Devendra Pratap Singh, visited the institute on Saturday, and praised its significant contributions to public healthcare.
During his visit, he received a comprehensive briefing about the institution and was accompanied by Dr Renu Rajguru, Medical Superintendent, for a tour of key hospital departments, including the Central Dome, Dental OPD, Nephrology, Nuclear Medicine, MICU, and Trauma and Emergency.
The Trauma and Emergency Department currently manages approximately 4,000 patients per month, which is about 130 to 150 patients daily—nearly double the number from two years ago. The Outpatient Department (OPD) has a daily footfall of around 3,500 patients. Singh commended the institute's administration for their effective and compassionate patient care, despite the increasing patient load.
He lauded the dedication of the medical staff, the use of advanced medical technologies, the institute's exemplary cleanliness, and the extensive healthcare facilities accessible to all, especially the economically weaker sections. He expressed particular gratitude to Lt Gen Jindal for his visionary leadership in elevating AIIMS Raipur to a centre of excellence in public health.
"AIIMS Raipur has become a source of pride for Chhattisgarh," he stated. "The institution will continue to uphold its standards of excellence and remain at the forefront of healthcare delivery—not just for the state, but for the entire nation."
Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd), Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur, received him upon his arrival.
