MUMBAI: Lodha brothers Abhishek and Abhinandan__along with the companies led by them, have amicably resolved all outstanding disputes between the parties, primarily relating to the intellectual property rights on ‘Lodha’ and ‘Lodha Group’ brand names. The two brothers also released a joint-statement on Monday, thanking, among others Justice R V Raveendran, a court-appointed retired judge and the mediator in this dispute for his guidance to resolve the issues between the two parties.

For almost three months, the two brothers and the companies managed by them were in a dispute relating to the use of the ‘Lodha’ and ‘Lodha Group’ brand names. Macrotech Developers , the company led by elder brother Abhishek, had filed a case in the Bombay high court, mainly to stop Abhinandan, and the real estate companies managed by him from using these two brand names.

During the hearing, justice Arif Doctor of Bombay HC had asked the parties to go for mediation. Justice Raveendran was appointed the mediator.

Under the terms of the settlement agreed by the parties, Macrotech will continue to own the ‘Lodha’ and ‘Lodha Group’ brands, and will have the exclusive right to use the same. Abhinandan remains the owner of ‘House of Abhinandan Lodha ’ (HoABL) brand name and will have the exclusive right to use that name.

The parties also agreed that ‘Lodha Group’ and ‘House of Abhinandan Lodha’ will have no connection with each other. “Both entities will communicate this widely,” the release said.

Under the terms of agreement, Abhinandan will have no rights or claims in Lodha Group, Macrotech or other businesses of Abhishek. Similarly, Abhishek will have no rights or claims in HoABL or other businesses of Abhinandan, the release said.
