"Being able to contribute to India's success on such a big stage is something every cricketer dreams of. I'm grateful to my teammates, coaches, and support staff for their unwavering support and belief.

"A heartfelt thank you to the fans as well — your energy and encouragement keep us going every step of the way."

India have now secured the award in consecutive months, with Shubman Gill receiving the honour for February.

Throughout the tournament, Iyer’s elegant stroke-play and ability to anchor the innings proved pivotal in guiding India through the middle overs. His consistent contributions and ability to build partnerships were crucial in the team's path to lifting the title.

The 30-year-old scored 172 runs across three matches in March, averaging 57.33 with a strike rate of 77.47, which included a series of composed and impactful knocks.

In a Group A clash against New Zealand, Iyer scored a fluent 79 off 98 deliveries, featuring four boundaries and two sixes, helping India post a competitive 250 on a challenging surface. He followed it up with a crucial 45 off 62 balls in the semi-final against Australia, aiding India in a successful chase. He wrapped up the tournament with a calm and calculated 48 off 62 in the final, once again versus New Zealand, to steer India to the title.
