NEW DELHI: An encounter between security forces and terrorists broke out in Jammu and Kashmir ’s Kishtwar district on Friday evening, the Indian Army said.
“In an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Kishtwar, alert troops of White Knight Corps established contact with terrorists at around 8 pm on 19 Sep 25. Exchange of fire took place. Operations are currently in progress,” the White Knight Corps posted on X.
The Army did not immediately share details on the number of terrorists involved or casualties.
Kishtwar, located in the Chenab Valley region of Jammu, has seen sporadic militant activity in recent years.
