'Murdering a white kid...': Accused Karmelo Anthony's release on bond in Texas stabbing case angers MAGA

Karmelo Anthony , the 17-year-old boy who admitted to having stabbed fellow student Austin Metcalf for self-defence on April 2, has been released on bond after his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000. Austin Metcalf and Karmelo Anthony did not know each other. An altercation started after Metcalf and his brother told Anthony that he was sitting in the wrong spot and needed to move. Anthony took out a knife from his bag and stabbed Austin in his heart, leading to his death in the arms of his twin brother.

The Texas stabbing incident triggered a major debate on whether it was a racial attack as Abthony is black. Metcalf's father claimed it was neither a racial nor a political attack and that it was a wrong on the part of the attacker to do as his action led to both families suffering. Karmelo's father said Karmelo is a good student, does two jobs and is not aggressive. A lot of public support came pouring for both the boys -- Anthony's defense campaign raised over $415,000 on GiveSendGo, while a memorial for Metcalf has garnered more than $275,000.

On Monday, after judge Angela Tucker reduced Anthony's bond, his family got him freed after paying the amount.

Dominique Alexander, a self-styled "civil and human rights activist, posted a photo of Karmelo Anthony after he got back to home and said, "This moment is a reminder that a community united can never be divided."

Charlie Kirk, founder and CEO of Trump-supporting campaign group Turning Point USA, shared the post and commented that murdering a white kid seems very acceptable to some. "Karmelo Anthony brutally murdered Austin Metcalf, and the support for him in the black community is growing. Murdering a white kid in cold blood seems acceptable to some," Kirk posted.

Republican Party youth advisory council co-chair CJ Pearson wrote: "Karmelo Anthony murdered a young man in cold blood yet somehow, he's walking the streets of Texas a free man? Now imagine if he were white and the victim was black. BLM would be burning down whole cities. This is a DISGRACE. Black or not, I REFUSE to defend this or him."

"Karmelo Anthony should never see the light of day again, but the hacktivist of a judge cut his bail substantially so he gets to enjoy life outside of prison until he works through the court. It's a f***** disgrace," Gunther Eagleman, Trump supporting X handle posted.
