The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devajit Saikia on Tuesday shared an update on opener Pratika Rawal's injury.
"Team India all-rounder Pratika Rawal has been ruled out of the remainder of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 due to ankle and knee injuries sustained while fielding in India’s final league-stage match of the tournament against Bangladesh in Navi Mumbai," Saikia said in a statement.

"The BCCI medical team will continue to monitor her progress. The team wishes Pratika Rawal a speedy recovery.
"The women’s selection committee has named Shafali Verma as the replacement for Pratika Rawal."
Shafali, who was not part of India’s original squad or the reserves, will be available for immediate selection ahead of the semi-final scheduled for October 30 in Navi Mumbai.
Shafali’s recent form has been impressive in domestic cricket and India A matches. She scored 52 against Australia A in Brisbane and 70 against New Zealand A in Bengaluru in recent months.
In the 2024–25 domestic one-day season, she accumulated 527 runs for Haryana at an average of 75.28 and a strike rate of 152.31, including a remarkable 197 off 115 balls against Bengal.
Her strong performance continued in the WPL 2025, where she emerged as Delhi Capitals' leading Indian batter with 304 runs at a strike rate of 152.76.
The semi-final clash between India and Australia is scheduled for October 30 in Navi Mumbai.
