Send Push

April 16, 2025 . Infrastructure Desk, Uttar Pradesh: In a major development for commuters, toll tax will now be levied at both entry and exit points on the upcoming Ganga Expressway, making it essential for drivers of personal vehicles to prepare for toll charges when using this high-speed corridor.

Construction of toll booths is in full swing at the Mangarola T-point in Hasanpur tehsil, Amroha district, which will serve as the sole access point for the Ganga Expressway in this region.

Toll Booths Being Constructed at Mangarola T-Point

The 594 km-long Ganga Expressway, stretching from Meerut to Prayagraj, is nearing completion, with approximately 23.60 km already constructed in the Amroha district. The remaining 10% of work is expected to wrap up soon.

At the Mangarola T-point on the Hasanpur-Rahra road, four toll booths are being constructed to collect toll tax from both directions. This T-point will serve as the only entry and exit location for commuters in the Amroha region, making it a crucial junction for local and through traffic.

Additional Infrastructure Nearing Completion

To enhance connectivity and convenience, the following infrastructure is being developed rapidly:

  • Operational underpasses at key locations

  • A new bus stand near the Rukhalu side of the T-point for travel to Meerut and Prayagraj

  • An overbridge at Mangarola, nearing its final construction stage

  • Asphalt surfacing completed on most parts of the expressway

  • Bridge construction over the Ganga river progressing at a fast pace

Faster Travel and Better Connectivity for Commuters

The Ganga Expressway is expected to be a game-changer for people in Amroha and surrounding districts. Travel time to Meerut and Prayagraj will be significantly reduced, benefiting:

  • Students commuting to universities in Meerut

  • Patients, especially emergency cases requiring rapid access to better medical facilities

  • Litigants and lawyers traveling to the Prayagraj High Court

  • Daily commuters and traders heading to regional urban hubs

Earlier, patients and accident victims often lost crucial time traveling via Gajraula or Garhmukteshwar. The expressway aims to eliminate such delays.

Toll Charges: What to Expect

While exact toll rates are yet to be officially announced, sources suggest that charges will be levied based on vehicle type and distance covered, with payments required at both entry and exit points.

More details on toll pricing and electronic toll collection (ETC) systems like FASTag will be made available once the entire stretch nears full operational status.
